San Mateo, CA – October 23, 2015 – Peninsula residents now have access to a new, innovative model for dental care. Apple Tree Dental (Apple Tree) held a grand opening celebration last night at its new Center for Dental Health, located at 430 N. El Camino Real in San Mateo.

As in its Minnesota programs, the unique on-site care programallows staff to deliver dental services at select locations, including Head Start centers, schools, and assisted living and long-term care facilities utilizing Apple Tree’s state-of-the-art delivery systems.

Launching Apple Tree in San Mateo was a collaborative effort between Apple Tree leadership in Minnesota and the Peninsula Health Care District (PHCD). In 2011, PHCD funded preliminary research and a community needs assessment. When findings concluded that San Mateo County needed a sustainable dental care program to meet growing geriatric and special care dentistry needs, PHCD committed $2 million to trigger the launch of the San Mateo Center. Sequoia Healthcare District committed $1 million in 2014 and the Burlingame Rotary Club gave $30,000, allowing Apple Tree to expand services throughout San Mateo County.
