Minnesota state legislators were recently able to see how important on-site dental care is to Minnesota’s disabled veterans.
Sen. Melisa Franzen (D-Edina), Rep. Kathy Lohmer (R-Stillwater) and Rep. Roz Peterson (R-Lakeville) visited the Minnesota Veterans Home where Apple Tree’s on-site dental team provides care each week. Since 1987, this public-private partnership between Apple Tree and the Veterans Home has enabled Apple Tree’s dental professionals to provide access to care for the nearly 300 residents of the home near Minnehaha Falls.
“It is an honor to serve our veterans,” said Dr. Michael Helgeson, Apple Tree’s CEO. “Not only does our on-site model save the state of MIinnesota money that would have been spent on special medical transportation, the care is more convenient and timely for the veterans themselves.”
The Minnesota Legislature begins its 2016 session on March 8.
