Dr. Erich Eichwald

Dr. Erich Eichwald joined the Apple Tree Dental team in Rochester in after graduating from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics in 2020, where he also received a Distinction in Public Health.  Prior to the University of Iowa, Dr. Eichwald achieved his Bachelor of Science degree from Marquette University in 2016.

The inspiration to pursue dentistry came to Dr. Eichwald through his interest in health care, working with his hands, and providing a service to help others.  He later developed a strong passion for service through involvement in organizations and service trips through Marquette University.  This passion for service, combined with his initial inspirations to pursue dentistry, influenced him to dedicate his professional career to serving populations that experience barriers to care.

Dr. Eichwald has a particular interest in oral surgery, endodontics, and dental public health topics and legislation.  He’s a member of the American Dental Association, and has been involved in Habitat for Humanity, Global Brigades, Project Homeless Connect, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Dance Marathon, and Iowa Mission of Mercy.

While his hometown is New Lenox, Illinois, Dr. Eichwald currently lives in Rochester.  Outside of dentistry, Dr. Eichwald has a variety of interests, including music, nature, cooking, gardening and landscaping, traveling, wood working, and following Chicago area sports.  He especially enjoys playing the drums and ukulele, going fishing, hiking, and socializing with friends and family.
