Should Minnesota try to keep the next generation of youth smoke free?

Apple Tree Dental says “yes!” Apple Tree’s providers witness firsthand how tobacco use can lead to an increased risk of periodontal disease, an infection of the gums and jawbones.  According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”), smokers are at twice the risk of periodontal disease compared with nonsmokers.  Untreated mouth infections can spread causing pain, swelling, septicemia, and even death.

We are committed to using our interactions with patients and our systems to give those who smoke information about the effects of tobacco on their health and the health of their family, and help them to quit.
