Dental Director Program
In response to federal and state initiatives to improve oral health in nursing homes, we offer
a convenient prevention-focused service called the Dental Director Program. As "Dental Director" in the facilities we serve, we:

Provide oral health screening for each resident.

Establish daily oral health care plans.

Train facility staff regarding oral health issues.

Work with residents and facility staff on oral healthcare techniques.

Establish oral health care policies and procedures to comply with regulations.
The Dental Director program is designed to proactively address oral health issues. Residents benefit because oral disease is identified and treated early, before problems become difficult and expensive to treat.
Good oral health can lead to improved self-image, taste perception, enjoyment of food, and social interaction. Apple Tree's Dental Director Program is provided at no additonal costs to our contracted nursing home sites. Each month a Dental Professional Screener (Hygienist or Dental Assistant) visits the facility to assist with the oral screening section of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) and establish daily oral care plans for all residents of the facility.
