The Madelia Dental Clinic now offers comprehensive dental care to the surrounding community through a
partnership between Apple Tree Dental and the dental hygiene program at Minnesota State University at
Mankato (MSU). The clinic was formerly operated by MSU as a training site for hygienists. Apple Tree
has agreed to staff and manage the clinic can so that it can offer restorative services in addition to
the preventive services provided by the hygiene students.
The Madelia Community Hospital is an ideal location for providing oral health services to the southwest region.
The clinic is located 30 miles from the Mankato campus, and will continue to be staffed by MSU hygiene students.
In addition, a local organization, Saludando Salud, provides a community outreach worker and interpretation
services that link the clinic to the Latino population. The location of the Dental Clinic, in the Madelia
Community Hospital, makes it an ideal hub for teledentistry, mobile delivery of care, and other service to the
entire surrounding region.
Dr. David Bruzek who has been the clinical dental director for the MSU Hygiene Program, was hired by Apple Tree
as the new Madelia Clinic Dental Director. He brings 27 years of practicing dentistry, as well as experience as
an educator and dental consultant, to the Madelia community. |
